Kalpana cremated with state honours

TRIPUNITHURA: Actor Kalpana, who died in Hyderabad following a heart attack on Monday, was cremated with full state honours at Tripunithura crematorium on Tuesday evening. Prince, the son of her elder sister Kalaranjini, performed the last rites.
Earlier in the day, actors Manoj K Jayan, Siddique and her relatives received the actor's body at Nedumbassery airport.Then the body was taken to Layam Koothambalam hall in Tripunithura by 1.30pm where thousands paid their last respects. Later, the body was taken to her apartment Daffodils Garden near Kannankulangara where her relatives, including her sister Urvashi, were present.
Home minister Ramesh Chennithala, speaker N Sakthan, actors Sai Kumar, Prithviraj, Kunchako Boban, Lalu Alex, Maniyanpilla Raju, Janardhanan, Kunchan, Baburaj, Kavya Madhavan, Mamta Mohandas, KPAC Lalitha, Zeenath, Seema G Nair, Bindu Panicker were among those paid homage to the actor.
