There is no confusion in Congress: Minister

January 28, 2016 12:00 am | Updated September 23, 2016 03:39 am IST - RAICHUR:

Rebutting the statement reportedly made by the Bharatiya Janata Party’s national vice-president B.S. Yeddyurappa at Mantralayam on Wednesday that the Congress was in a confusion when it came to nominating candidates for the bypolls to three Assembly constituencies, including Deodurg (ST reserved), Minister of State for Medical Education Sharanprakash Patil said that there was no such confusion as the party leaders had chosen candidates after discussions.

Therefore, the leaders and workers would join hands to help the party win these seats with the highest margins.

He was talking to presspersons outside the Tahsildar’s office in Deodurg after party candidate Rajshekhar Naik filed his nomination papers on Wednesday.

BJP criticised

Mr. Sharanprakash Patil criticised the BJP leaders for spreading falsehood that development programmes had been taken up only when the BJP was in power and that there was no contribution from the Congress for the development of the State — in the past and now.

He reiterated that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had implemented several development and pro-people programmes for the welfare of the State. Hence, people of the constituencies where bypoll is scheduled to be held will elect Congress candidates with a view to enable further development.

Senior leader N.S. Boseraju was present.
