Binny’s Teams With Instacart For Home Delivery Service

January 27, 2016

Binny’s Beverage Depot, the 31-store chain in Chicago, is teaming with the grocery delivery service Instacart to offer home delivery in select neighborhoods of the city. Binny’s, which inventories 30,000 SKUs, is making available 12,000 items—ranging from beers and wines to spirits and mixers—to ensure availability, with some deliveries promised in less than an hour.

San Francisco-based Instacart, which has been working since 2013 in Chicago with local retailers including Target, Mariano’s Fresh Market and Whole Foods, plans to charge customers regular Binny’s retail prices plus delivery fees ranging from $5.99 to $9.99, depending on the size of the order. Binny’s, which has been delivering on its own since the 1940s, will continue its truck service only for larger orders, the company said. Delivery competitors in Chicago include Saucey, DrinkFly, Drizly, Foxtrot and Cocktail Courier.
