Mangaluru: Thumnerale in Nanjangud taluk of Mysuru district recorded maximum rainfall of 13.5mm in last 24 hours up to 8.30am on January 27. Ajekar hobli in Karkala taluk of Udupi district recorded maximum temperature of 37.7°C at 2pm on January 26. Dummavada hobli in Kalghatgi taluk of Dharwad district recorded lowest minimum temperature of 11.2°C on January 27 at 6.45am, G S Srinivasa Reddy, director, KSNDMC said.

More than 90% relative humidity has been recorded in 35% geographical area in the state. Less than 25% of relative humidity has been recorded in 8% geographical area in the state. Dry weather condition prevailed over the state. Moderate and light rain respectively was recorded in one gram panchayat each; very light rain over 15 gram panchayats and no rainfall over remaining 5,010 gram panchayats across the state.
Karnataka for the period from January 1 to January 27 recorded surplus rainfall of 63%. Against normal weighted average rainfall of 2mm in south-interior, north-interior, malnad and coastal parts, state recorded rainfall of 2mm. For 24-hours period ending 8.30am on January 27, four geographical regions received 0mm actual weighted average rainfall against normal weighted average rainfall of 0.1mm, a 400% surplus departure from weighted-average rainfall.
