Dia Mirza's unit denied permission to shoot in Santiniketan

Dia Mirza had a tough time shooting in Santiniketan recently The actress was there to shoot for a TV programme, Ganga -The .Soul of India, at the Visva-Bharati University . Sadly, the actress had to fly back to Mumbai when the authorities denied permission to the unit.
Confirming the news Dr (Col) MM Mitra, registrar Visva-Bharati, said, ���One needs to take prior permission before shooting.In this case, where Dia Mirza was a part of the crew, we had no option but to stop the shoot as they didn't seek any permission. When my staff informed that a unit was shooting, I had to intervene. We go through the script before granting permission for the shoot. There are specific areas like Chhatimtala or the temple area, where we don't allow anyone to shoot.But if we see the commercial viability is higher, we charge accordingly .���
