Xiaomi and Microsoft teamed up last year to provide Mi4 owners with the option to experience Windows 10 Mobile on their Android devices.

A special Windows 10 Mobile ROM has been released late last year for Xiaomi Mi4 owners who wished to try out Microsoft's new operating system.

However, even though the ROM wasn't tagged as beta, Xiaomi Mi4 owners who installed Windows 10 Mobile on their smartphones reported many issues with the operating system.

Screen freezes, stability and performance issues, as well as bugs with multiple apps included in the OS, are just some of the problems that Xiaomi Mi4 owners have been complaining about since the release of the Windows 10 Mobile ROM.

The good news is that Xiaomi and Microsoft have worked together to provide owners of Mi4 smartphones equipped with Windows 10 Mobile with an update meant to address some of the issues reported by users.

Without announcing the availability of the update in advance, Xiaomi and Microsoft have kicked off the rollout of the long-awaited Windows 10 Mobile update for Mi4 devices.

The Chinese company has also provided Mi4 owners with a full changelog that contains some of the most significant changes included in the update.

Screen freezing issues should be fixed now

As NPU points out, the update should fix most of the screen freezing issues that Xiaomi Mi4 owners have been complaining about.

Also, the issues with charging the battery when the phone is turned off should be fixed as well. A bug with the alarm clock and some sync issues with Outlook mail have been addressed too.

The official changelog also mentions the update should add a vibration switch button, which can be found in Settings / Extras / Vibration settings.

The quality of the camera pictures captured at close range has been improved while the battery backup has been optimized. Last but not least, developers have enhanced the stability of quick operation settings page.
