Bhubaneswar: Kerala Kala Samiti (KKS), an association of Malayalees residing in the city, celebrated its golden jubilee here on Sunday. Governor S C Jamir inaugurated the event.
The organization is planning to promote cultural integration, peace and harmony, literacy, health and sanitation and create awareness on environment and support for Smart City campaign during the year-long celebration.

"People of Odisha and the state government have always been supportive of our initiatives. We plan to promote health and sanitation among tribal people in the interior areas," said KKS president Benjamin Simon.
Thirty-five artists from Kerala performed Kathakali and Carnatic music in Sopanam style on the occasion. Currently, over 500 Malayalee families are staying in the state capital.
