999 artistes perform in Bhadradri festival

As many as 999 artistes performed Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam, folk and other dances together in unison based on the renowned saint composer Bhakta Ramadasu's keertanas as part of “Bhadradri Nrutyabhishekam “, a mega cultural event held in Bhadrachalam on Sunday.

The participants comprising schoolchildren up to the age of 15 years from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and some other States ensured a place in the Telugu Book of Records (TBR) for their remarkable feat, according to sources.

The event was organised by the Awardee Teachers Association of Telangana.

Bhadrachalam MLA Sunnam Rajaiah, Congress MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy and others were present at the inaugural ceremony.

Girls from far and near clad in traditional attire danced in unison abutting the historic Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy temple complex. Another mega cultural event christened “Nrutyaneerajanam”, featuring splendid group performances by artistes based on various episodes of the Ramayana, was held at the same venue in the afternoon.
