Case booked against Velmurugan

The Muthandikuppam police have registered an attempt-to-murder case against founder of Tamizhaga Vazhvurimai Katchi T. Velmurugan, his brother Thirumalvalavan and 50 others on charges of allegedly assaulting Arumugam, north district secretary of the PMK on Saturday night.

According to police, Mr. Arumugam along with six others were travelling in a Toyota Innova car from Neyveli to Panruti when a gang in three cars waylaid them at Kizhkollai and assaulted the occupants with sickles and iron rods. The gang members later fled the scene.
