He kept to himself

Residents at Pearl Harbour Apartments in Tulsiwadi, Mazgaon, where Khan used to stay with his family, said he was aloof in nature, and would largely keep to himself.

“We would see him leave for work around 10 a.m. and he would be back by 7 p.m. We didn’t see much of him apart from that. We only saw on the news that he had been arrested,” said a resident, who did not wish to be named.

Khan had a gold jewellery business at Musafirkhana, and used to stay with his wife and two daughters.

He was picked up by the Maharashtra Anti Terrorism Squad in the early hours of Friday morning and handed over to the National Investigation Agency. After close to 15 hours of questioning, he was placed under arrest late on Friday evening.
