PUPILS at Siansundu Secondary School in Binga, Matabeleland North are being forced to queue for water at the school’s only working borehole until midnight after other water sources in the area dried up.

Most of the affected students are those doing bush boarding at the school as they attend lessons during the day and then queue for water for many hours at night as the borehole is failing to cope with demand from the school and villagers. School head Mr Land Kabbome said the situation was dire urging Government to quickly come in to avert possible disaster.

He said teachers and students residing at the school had been affected as they were forced to queue until midnight for them to get water for domestic use.

“We have only one borehole serving the community and also catering for school teachers and students,” said Mr Kabbome. — Sunday News Reporter
