“It was only runway 29 that witnessed dense fog on Saturday. Runway 28 remained almost unaffected. The fog situation will slowly improve in the coming days,” said Dr. R.K. Jenamani, Director-in-Chage, IGIA MeT unit.
The MeT department has forecast a mainly clear sky, with moderate to dense fog at many places with very dense fog at isolated places on Sunday. The maximum temperature will be around 18 degrees Celsius.
Though flights movements were not hampered, many trains were affected. As per northern railway, 21 trains were delayed by two to seven hours while 14 trains had to be rescheduled. However, despite fog affecting train schedules, northern railway has decided to completely restore 34 pairs of trains that were earlier announced to remain cancelled or frequency reduced.
