ABVP plays major role in regional bonding: Nirmal

JAMMU, Jan 23: Led by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) National joint organizing secretary Sriniwas, a group of ABVP activists from North Eastern States, currently on Students Experience In Inter-State Living (SEIL) tour programme, called on former Dy. Chief Minister and Leader of BJP Legislative Party Dr Nirmal Singh at his residence and shared their experience as well as the benefits of undertaking such tour in state like Jammu & Kashmir.
Dr. Nirmal Singh, who too had long association with ABVP during student days, held interaction with these activists in a cordial atmosphere.
During over two hours interaction with Dr. Nirmal Singh, these activists raised a number of issues confronting the State of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly related to militancy, plight of border people, repeated attempts of infiltration, dignified return of Kashmiri Pandit families to valley, POJK refugees and the stand of State government on getting evicted the illegally occupied parts of Jammu & Kashmir by Pakistan. They were also eager to know as to what the PDP-BJP coalition government had done for the educated youth of the State besides discussing welfare schemes launched for women and weaker sections.
Dr. Singh, while expressing gratitude to these activists for showing concern for Jammu & Kashmir and its people, said that for regional understanding between the students of Ladakh region and others part of the country, Students Experience In Regional Understanding (SEERU) was setup in 1990 when he himself was the State president of ABVP and this organization did a splendid work and received appreciation adding that this trend is still going on.
Dr. Nirmal Singh also appreciated the conducting of such tours and said that it provides an opportunity to bring people of different regions and cultures to come more closer to know and understand the other cultures, which further strengthen the bonds of oneness and brotherhood.
A number of senior activists of ABVP from Jammu including ABVP State president Ishwar Sharad, State secretary Varsha Gupta, Member National Executive Prof. Varinder Kundal, Prof. Parkash Anthal, Mahanagar president Ganesh Malhotra, secretary Naina Dogra, State joint secretary Abhinav Pandotra, Enakshi Kapoor, Deepak Gupta, BJP State secretary Mamta Singh and SEIL Tour convenor Anil Vaid  were present during the interaction.
