Executive Summary
• Canadian dollar has lost 20% value since December 2014
• Automotive sales had record year in 2015 for Canada
• CPI Index for November showed 1.6% increase in prices
• Drought/low Canadian dollar led to higher food/consumer prices
• All retail sectors seen an increase, except for Gas Stations

Issues facing Retail
• eCommerce is projected to grow to 20% of all retail sales
• Taxation (ORPP, Carbon Taxation, Corporate Tax hikes)
• Increases to minimum wage
• Consolidation
• New entrants by United States and/or International Chains
• Technology emphasis to wearable devices
