Bhubaneswar: Finance minister Pradip Amat on Friday asked corporates to take up work under corporate social responsibility (CSR) in tune with the state government's priorities.
"Odisha can gain if corporates work in tandem with the state government on the identified sectors. A state-level CSR body could lay the road map for such expenditure," said Amat while speaking at an event, Inclusive India Forum 2016, in Xavier Institute of Management Bhubaneswar (XIMB) here.
The finance minister's statement is being seen as an indirect reference to some public sector undertakings declining the state government's request to fund the populist subsidized cooked meal scheme, Aahar.

To extend the scheme from five cities to all district headquarters, the government has been exploring various funding options.
