Youth who stalked woman prime suspect

New Delhi: A bowl of macaroni found scattered on the bed could be the vital clue to lead police to the killers of the two sisters. Though the prime suspect is a youth who was allegedly stalking the elder sister, Poonam, the role of a family member can also not be ruled out, especially after their statements were found contradictory, said sources.
Prima facie investigations suggest that the killer had entered the house after 9.30am when the girl's parents left for work leaving the doors unlocked.
In her statement, Poonam's mother Rekha told the cops that she had left the house while the sisters were sleeping. She cooked the macaroni and left it beside the bed.
Sources said the killer may have attacked the siblings in their sleep. As a result, the neighbours failed to hear any calls for help. Swati had an injury mark on her left cheek that could have been caused by a sharp object, like the edge of steel bowl or a bangle worn by the killer. Police suspect that while the killer was strangling Poonam, she might have woken up and tried to resist. This would have led to a scuffle during which the bowl of macaroni overturned.
The entry to the house was friendly as no valuables were found missing. Cops also suspect poisoning to be the cause of death.
Apart from the youth allegedly stalking Poonam, police suspect the role of a former landlord with whom the woman had allegedly fought over money. A case under Section 302 the Indian Penal Code has been registered and teams have been formed to scan the CCTV cameras around the area.
