Sonalee Kulkarni, known for her performances in Marathi films like 'Bakula Namdeo Ghotale' and 'Natarang,' added another feather to her cap. The actress, who forayed into Bollywood with films like 'Grand Masti' and 'Singham Returns,' is said to spearhead woman-centric subjects in Marathi cinema with her next, Poshter Girl. Though Marathi cinema has broken new grounds in recent years, we haven't really seen an out and out woman-centric subject. That's the genre the actress is looking to explore with her next.

More known for her glamourous image, Sonalee is believed to be giving a tough time to all five male leads in her upcoming movie, scheduled to release on February 12.What makes this all the more interesting is that the Samir Patil-directed film takes a satirical look at the serious issue of female foeticide. Poshter Girl is a rollercoaster ride in a quaint little village in Maharashtra, Tekawde, ill-famous for female infanticide. As a result of this, there are no girls left within the village. And when the question of boys' marriage arises, a beautiful and intelligent Rupali (Sonalee) enters the scenario and changes everything. What happens when she shortlists five candidates who would do anything to win her heart forms the crux of the film.
