From Orlando Bloom to Isabella Rose: When Hollywood met India's big cat
December has always been the favourite time for foreign tourists to visit Ranthambore National Park, but last December saw the largest number of celebrities going for tiger safari as well ' probably the highest number in last two years. 'December has always been a busy season, but last year, from November-end till December, there were many big names visiting Ranthambore, and since there was no special request made to facilitate their visit, we only came to know much later who these people were.
We only had their names in our record books. Most foreign celebrities who visit Ranthambore visit the park just like any other tourist and are very secretive about their visit,' says Mangal Singh, assistant forest conservator of forest (tourism), Ranthambore Tiger Reserve.

Eva chilling with a tiger
After her hush-hush visit to a Gurgaon-based NGO, Eva Longoria and her fiance Antonio Baston went to Agra and then Rajasthan. She tweeted a pic of the big cat with the caption, 'Yep. That's a tiger. Right in front of us just chillin (sic).' She also posted a photo which showed her cuddling an elephant, along with the caption, 'I want to take him home with me! #India #Reserve.'
Orlando Bloom
After his much-discussed deportation from the Delhi airport, Orlando returned to India and spent over a week here. He visited Agra and mentioned to us that he 'wants to see elephants.' As per sources, the actor visited Ranthambore with a couple of friends before ending his trip in Mumbai.
Kerry Kennedy
Kerry Kennedy, human rights activist and niece of John F Kennedy, came to India with her three daughters. She revealed to us that after spending Christmas at Kailash Satyarthi's ashram near Jaipur, they went to Ranthambore National Park and a visit to the tiger reserve was 'an important part of their vacation.'

Rupert and James Murdoch
Singh tells us that 'no one knew much about Rupert or James Murdoch until they read about their profile and found out that the latter was 'some CEO of 21st Century Fox.' Says Singh, 'They came like regular visitors and we did not receive any prior request from their end.' Apparently, the Murdochs were on a family holiday to India in December.
Isabella Rose
Singh informs that singer Isabella Rose also came to the tiger reserve in December, but not much was known about her Rajasthan tour or if she visited any other place in India. 'We have her name in our record books and have no information for how long she was in Rajasthan or what all she visited while in India,' says Singh.
