KOCHI: The state government will also set up an incubation facility at
Infopark Thrissur to promote entrepreneurship and generate employment for youth, said chief minister Oommen Chandy. He was addressing an audience after inaugurating Indeevaram, the second phase of Infopark Thrissur at a function held at the Koratty Campus near Thrissur.
“Kerala has a long way to go in IT and the
Infopark Thrissur project is part of the Government's effort in that direction.
The government is committed to utilizing all the potential at Infopark Thrissur. For this, we will take steps to transfer another fifteen acres of land so that Infopark Thrissur gets better access to the national highway,” he said.
Opposition leader VS Achuthanandan in his message said that Indeevaram would help in supporting IT growth in Kerala.
Indeevaram is expected to bring in new impetus to Koratty, the erstwhile industrial centre. In the first phase, there were only Startups and SMEs. In the second, phase global companies will be operating from here, said authorities.
The single block building in six acres has a total built up area of 3.3 lakh square feet, with six floors, basement, auditorium and pantry on the ground floor, and open parking areas and food courts on the terrace. Indeevaram will also have space for start-ups and SMEs on the ground floor and first floor, while giving way to the IT giants on the upper floors.
Indeevaram is supported by a 11-KV substation with a dedicated feeder form the KSEB and 100% generator backup. It sources its own water supply from the Chalakudy River. These add to the attractions of Infopark Thrissur as the next big destination for IT companies. The Building has parking facility for over 500 cars.
BD Devassi, MLA Chalakudy, presided over the function. Principal Secretary Industries and IT PH Kurian, Infopark CEO Rishikesh Nair; Thrissur district collector V Ratheesan, Thrissur district panchayat president Sheela Vijayakumar and other dignitaries were present at the occasion.
