Illegal cream factory sealed

ISLAMABAD - Assistant Commissioner (Secretariat) Capt (Retd) Waqas Rashid raided and sealed an extremely unhygienic and non-dairy whipping cream factory in the area of Khanna yesterday.
The factory set up in Abdullah Bebon Town was supplying around 1,000kg dirty cream daily to Rahat Bakers, I-8 Markaz, Rahat Commercial Market, City Bakers Tarlai, Al-Hamra Bakers and various other bakeries/confectioners in Islamabad. Substandard smelly milk fat, glucose having odour and other harmful chemicals were being added to prepare whip cream without any certification or authorisation. Rusted utensils and muddy/slushy floors with tyres placed over there had created dirty environment.
The cream and other dairy products were being packed in packing material of various other brands.

No food licence or health certificate was available with the factory owner.
The owner and a labourer were arrested from the spot. Samples of glucose, milk fat and cream have been obtained and sent for expert opinion of nutritionist.
