Spyker Reportedly Debuting Electric Vehicle Concept in March
After exiting bankruptcy last summer, Spyker will reportedly debut an electric vehicle concept at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show in March.
The Dutch specialty automaker was officially bankrupt in late 2014, but successfully exited moratorium last summer which resulted in a merger with Portland, Oregon-based electric aircraft manufacturer Volta Volare. The two companies announced they would be jointly developing electrified powertrains, hinting that Spyker’s next vehicle would be an EV.
Autovisie recently interviewed Spyker founder and CEO Victor Mueller and Mueller said that the automaker would show something at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show but stopped short of confirming a concept car.

Expect the concept to take the form of a sports car, which is what Spyker specializes in. The unknown is whether Spyker has developed an all-new vehicle from the ground up to be an EV, or if the company will equip the B6 Venator (seen above) with an all-electric powertrain. Considering Spyker’s low-volume production numbers, expect the concept to preview a production model since the company needs to start selling cars again.
