Moneylender killed in Malad, 1 held

A 37-year-old man was murdered by three persons in Malad over monetary issues on Tuesday night. The deceased Phillip Nadar, a member of a political party and a special executive officer (SEO), was a money lender, said the police. While one person who owed money to Nadar has been arrested, two others are still absconding. The incident took place around 8.30 pm Tuesday in the Kasam Baug area of Malad, near Nadar’s residence. Nadar and Mandekar got into an argument over money owed and then, one of the accused threw chilli powder in the eyes of Nadar and started hitting his head with a wooden spade. The trio then fled the spot. The locals then rushed Nadar to a hospital where he was declared dead.
