Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite, better known as Kaká, calls the Sunshine State of Florida home these days, but the Orlando City midfielder was in L.A. for a preseason media tour on behalf of Major League Soccer and met up with Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant.

It's possible the two caught up about soccer in Italian, which both of them speak well from their years in that country. Bryant spent much of his childhood in Italy. Kaká played for Milan, one of the top teams there. Bryant played both basketball and soccer when he was young, eventually maintaining a fan's love for one sport while following the path to be a professional in the other.

On the other hand, they might have talked about things in Spanish, which Kaká also speaks fluently, due to his time spent playing for Real Madrid in Spain. Bryant, meanwhile, speaks the language also, due to his Mexican-American wife, Vanessa, as well as time spent watching telenevolas to help him practice his Spanish.

Bryant is in his final NBA season, but Kaká is starting his second season in MLS this year and aims to put his team in the playoffs now that he understands the league better.

"In this league, soccer is not an exact science," Kaká explained. "If Real Madrid plays the last team in the league, Real Madrid is going to win for sure, 99%. Here if the first team plays with the last team it’s 50-50. So you need to understand how the league works. This was the biggest challenge for me the first season."

The Brazilian icon also hopes to earn a spot with his national team again for the 2016 Copa America, and perhaps possibly as one of the overage players for the Olympic team this summer. "The Olympics are important because it's the only title Brazil hasn't won yet," Kaká said. "Also, the Olympic Games are in Rio, so it's a big deal for us."

Bryant, meanwhile, has ruled out playing in the Olympic Games for the USA basketball team.
