Concern over Weymouth walk-in health centre's future

Concerns have been raised over the future of a walk-in health centre in Dorset.
The GP-led Weymouth Community Health Centre allows people to see a doctor or nurse without an appointment.
The centre is privately run by The Practice Plc, on behalf of the NHS, but its contract expires at the end of June.
Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) said a decision about the future of the centre had not yet been made.
The original five-year contract has been extended once, and for legal reasons cannot be extended again, Dorset CCG said.
NHS England met some of the centre's 400 patients on Tuesday to discuss future plans.
Patient Howard Jones, 72, said if a decision was made to close the centre, on the site of the community hospital, he had concerns about the over-subscription of other nearby surgeries.
A decision would "all boil down to money" and making savings, he added.
Dorset CCG said it was working with stakeholders, including local drug and alcohol services, councillors and patients to understand local needs.
