Bypolls: ticket aspirants submit application

As many as 18 aspirants have sought Congress ticket to contest the byelections from the Bidar Assembly constituency.

They include the former MLA Rahim Khan, the former Bidar Zilla Panchayat president Rajashree Srikant Swamy, and Congress leaders such as Ayaz Khan, Mannan Seth and Sanjay Jahagirdar.

They submitted their applications before a committee of party observers in the party office on Tuesday.

Meeting

Minister Umashree, the former Minister Rani Satish, Iqbal Ahmed Saradagi, MLC, and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee secretary Anwar Mudhol held a meeting with party workers. Eshwar Khandre, MLA; Vijay Singh, MLC; Khaji Arshed Ali, district Congress committee president; and Aravind Kumar Arali, DCC secretary, were present.
