No children should be left behind.

This was the message by the Minister for Industry and Trade Faiyaz Koya to the children of Dilkusha Home in Nausori on Monday.

 Mr Koya and his staff donated Fijian Made school stationery for the new school year to the home.

Deaconess Leba Laveti acknowledged the minister and his staff for thinking of the children at the home.

Mr Koya said the donation of school stationery and shoes to the children were not only about making dreams come true but it was their investment in Fiji’s future.

“The Fijian Government remains resolute in our quest to improve quality and efficiency throughout the schooling sector,” Mr Koya said.

“This ensures that while education is free, it is also accessible to each and every child. We owe to our children a safe, clean and stable schooling environment so that no one is left behind.”

The ministry donated eight smart tablets, other relevant school stationery and some Fijian made merchandise such as umbrellas, water bottles, calendars and thermal coffee mugs.

They also donated exercise books that were given by Star Printery Limited and shoes from Deluxe Footwear.

He said the Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama’s vision was very clear and that was not to leave any child deprived of basic education.

“I want to underscore that it is the responsibility of each Fijian to ensure that underprivileged children are given an equal opportunity to be educated.
