Bihar engineer writes to PMO, seeks security

Patna: A civil engineer and CPWD contractor engaged in construction of the boundary wall of Kendriya Vidyalaya at Gannipur in Muzaffarpur district has been running from pillar to post seeking security for himself and the construction site after receiving extortion calls.
Having failed to get security, the engineer, Chandan Kumar Singh, wrote to the PMO, CMO and DGP alleging threat to his life.
"On January 18, I received a confirmation from the PMO that my complaint has been forwarded to Bihar DGP," Singh said. ADG (headquarters) Sunil Kumar said the police were looking into the matter.
Singh had first lodged a complaint with Kankarbagh police station on July 11, 2015 after allegedly receiving extortion call from Mantu and Shambhu gang. "They asked me to either leave the construction site or pay 10% cost of the Rs 2 crore project. The then Patna SSP, Vikas Vaibhav, had provided me a bodyguard. However, on July 14, when I was on my way to the construction site, a group of 15 persons made an attempt to kidnap me in Muzaffarpur following which I lodged an FIR with Kazi Muhammadpur police station," Chandan said.
