CounterTack Announces New Training Package for Higher Education Institutions Featuring Malware Analysis Training and Free Tool Licenses

CounterTack, the leader in Big Data Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), today announced a new curriculum for colleges and universities offering IT security coursework to students seeking employment in IT security after graduation. The program trains students on reverse engineering malware using Responder® PRO, CounterTack's industry-leading, reverse-engineering, forensics and malware analysis solution specifically designed for security incident responders.

Kingston University, based in the UK, is piloting the program, and is incorporating the tool and malware training into their curriculum with a forensic approach to endpoint security for students. "Cyberattacks are having a very real and damaging impact on government and private sector entities," said Dr. Dimitris Tspsinos, who runs the cybersecurity program at Kingston University. "It is vital that our students graduate with the tools they need to recognize and remediate attacks as they increase in magnitude and impact. Our goal is to use industry-leading technology to introduce students to the tools they'll be using upon graduation."

Responder PRO is widely considered the most advanced tool available on the market for physical memory analysis, forensics and malware reverse engineering. Designed to deliver more accurate threat analysis and more comprehensively drill into malware binaries, Responder PRO, with its built-in DDNA automated malware analysis engine, gives incident responders the ability to automatically reverse engineer malicious code and expedite investigations.

"As we begin working with forward-thinking universities, we want to help counter the skill shortage we are experiencing in cybersecurity today, by lending our expertise and seeing our technology to prepare students for real-world security forensic work which necessitated this program," said Neal Creighton (News - Alert), CEO of CounterTack. "As universities add cybersecurity programs to their IT curricula, students can't rely on textbooks; they need familiarity with industry-accepted tools and practical training to succeed in the fast-paced cybersecurity environment."

CounterTack has also recently announced a new malware analysis training curriculum, where attendees can learn the latest malware analysis techniques from the foremost experts. (ISC)2 members can earn 4 CPE credits through completing the 4-hour, live virtual training. Register here.
