Paulo Coelho, in the The Alchemist, wrote "And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it." This is perhaps what happened with Sudha Chandran.

Narrating her story to the Facebook page Humans of Bombay, Sudha Chandran with her indomitable strength becomes an inspiration for many.

She started dancing when she was 3 and a half years old. Such was her love for dance that she decided to study arts instead of science in her high school years. The decision came only keeping in mind it will enable her to continue dancing.

Her passion for dance only increased with time, but with turn of events she was at a point where she was not even sure if she could ever dance again!

While travelling by a bus she met with an accident that led to amputation of her right foot. For a young enthusiastic dancer, that was the worst that could happen.

After getting a Jaipor leg, it took her 3 years to recover and feel normal. Sessions of physiotherapy went in making her comfortable while walking. Tired of listening about her inability to dance again and the unsolicited sympathy she received only made her sure about wanting to dance again.

After going through a tiresome and a slow process of learning to dance all over again, she went to her father and told him she was ready to perform again. The newspapers read, 'Looses a Foot, Walks a Mile' and it only increased her nervousness as this was her comeback.

"I began to get nervous before going up on stage when my Grandmother told me, 'Don't worry, God is with you...let the miracle happen.' but I was so angry that I said, 'If God was with me he wouldn't ever do this to me!" articulated Sudha.

It was the respect she received post that performance which made her believe God was indeed with her.

"Even if I didn't see it then, he was with me all along and that's the irony of life - that an accident so fatal, can still be a blessing in disguise," said Sudha.
