Third businessman gets extortion call from Pujari

Ahmedabad: Even as two complaints of extortion against underworld don Ravi Pujari, who is believed to be based in Australia, are being probed by crime branch, another city-based builder has allegedly been threatened by Pujari, the former right hand man of Chhota Rajan.
According to crime branch sources, the builder has been approached by city crime branch to lodge an official complaint.“The builder promised to come in on Tuesday,“ added a crime branch of ficial. Meanwhile, crime branch officials have tracked the number which Pujari told another city-based builder Prakash Patel, who received extortion calls earlier, to call back on.“The cell number is registered in Uttar Pradesh We sought help from UP Poli ce to track the holder of the sa id number,“ added a city cri me branch official.
After threatening Pra kash Patel, Pujari allegedly threatened a contractor from Anand, to extort Rs 25 crore from him. “Pujari had threa tened to eliminate the cont ractor's entire family if the money was not paid. The audio clip of that call has been submitted to crime branch for investigation,“ said a crime branch source.
“While we were probing the two complaints, we came across a number from Ahmedabad that Pujari had contacted. We found that the number belongs to a city-based builder who was also receiving extortion calls from Pujari,“ said a senior crime branch official. Senior police officials said that the state government has taken serious note of extortion calls being received by several Gujarat businessman.
