Excise and Taxation Officer (ETO) Somdutt Sharma has been elected as the president of the Himachal Pradesh Excise and Taxation Officers Association. The meeting to elect the association chief was held on January 16 at Baddi.

Varun Katoch has been elected as the general Secretary, Inder Sharma joint secretary, Ravinder Chauhan treasurer, Bhoop Ram Sharma press secretary, Devkant Khachi senior vice-president, Sardar Pritpal Singh, Anil Sharma and Shilpa Kapil, vice-presidents and Himanshu Panwar chief adviser.

Somdutt Sharma said the Excise and Taxation Department earns more than 65 per cent of the state revenue and needed to re-organised in case the good and service tax (GST) was passed. — TNS
