BJP leader Rakesh Thakur becomes Hamirpur Zila parishad Chairman

Hamirpur (HP), Jan 18 (UNI) BJP leaders Rakesh Thakur and Chandu Lal Chaudhry were today elected Chairman and Vice chairman of Hamirpur Zila parishad, respectively.
The BJP candidates won the elections by 12-6 votes against Congress party candidates Ankush Saini and Arvinder Kaur Dogra.
BJP also got the posts of President and Vice president of Hamirpur Nagar Parishad. Sulochna Devi was elected as the new President and Deep Kumar, Vice-President. Deep Kumar had contested the elections as BJP rebel, but later on confirmed that he was a BJP man. Both elections were unanimous, an official spokesman said here today.
