Tridandi Srimannarayana Chinna Jeeyar Swami initiated the one crore ‘Vishnunama Parayanam’ at the Tata Laskhmiprasad Kalyanamandapam here on Sunday night. Earlier, a large number of devotees witnessed the ‘Lakshminarayana Yagnam’, as the pontiff performed ‘Purnahuti’ for ‘Loka Kalyanam’. The seer exhorted devotees to contribute their mite for the conduct of the 1,000th birth anniversary of Sri Ramanujacharya falling next year, in a befitting manner. He highlighted the salient features of the 216-ft ‘Statue of Equality’ being constructed at a cost of over Rs. 600 crore at Muchintal on the outskirts of Hyderabad as part of the millennium celebrations of Sri Ramanujacharya, the exponent the Vishishtadvaita philosophy.
