Pole Vault Summit ResultsSEATTLE – The University of Hawai'i women's track and field team knocked out the first two meets on the season over the weekend on the mainland, competing in the University of Washington Preview, Saturday at the Dempsey Indoor, and wrapping up two-day competition at the Pole Vault Summit in Reno, Nev.
The Rainbow Wahine went right to work, posting notable first-week performances, including a strong showing in numerous events by a newcomer and great outings for senior leaders.

South Carolina grad transfer
LeAnna Morrison made a strong first showing, turning in a 7.87-second performance in the 60m preliminaries—a time which ranked second on UH's all-time performances list.

Morrison made her mark again in the 60m hurdles, notching another mark at No. on the UH all-time list with a time of 8.57 seconds in the final, finishing in fifth place overall. Current record-holder, Hau`ula, O`ahu senior
Zhane Santiago registered a time of 9.05, which also ranks among the top 10 all-time marks at UH.

Coming back for her fourth event, Morrison ranked eighth in the triple jump with a UH all-time seventh-best 38-06.25 (11.74m) in the preliminary, qualifying her for the final. An injury kept her from completing the final or competing in the 200m; her fourth event.

Louise Mulvey cut within .03 of claiming a new personal best in the 800m, running 2:17.39 to finish 10th among the field.

Charlinda Ioane came in ninth with a toss of 44-02.00 (13.46m), just ahead of Burlingame, Calif. junior
Sabrina Mendoza in 10th at 42-10.75 (13.07m).

In the weight throw, Porlier Langlois reached 51-08.50 (15.76m) in the weight throw to finish 12th, within striking distance of a personal best from last season, while Ioane was 19th with a mark of 46-08.00 (14.22m).

Amber Kozaki both reached heights of 12-1.5 (3.70m), garnering ninth and 10th place, respectively.

The Rainbow Wahine will return to Honolulu for the first of four all-comer Sunrise Series meets, the Season Opener on Saturday, Jan. 23 at the Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex.
