IMPHAL, Jan 14: Keishamthong MLA L Ibomcha today handed over financial assistance to the injured journalists, who were assaulted on the night of January 11 at Keishamthong by a 30-year old who is in police custody now.
The MLA who visited Athokpam Jiten, senior reporter of Sangai Express and also the publicity secretary of AMWJU at the hospital today was also accompanied by members of the AMWJU.
The MPCC general secretary RK Ranisana also today extended financial assistance to standing committee member of AMWJU and senior reporter of Poknapham, RK Bullu. RK Bulu will be undergoing surgery at RIMS for his fracture chin, next week.
In the meantime, the Manipur People’s Party (MPP) strongly condemned the assault on journalists terming it an act of savage.
