Here's the latest food Gwyneth Paltrow won't eat
New year, new Gwyneth.
The mother-of-two revealed on her diet and lifestyle website Goop that she will be embarking on a detox for the new year as she works on "resting the palette".
The Hollywood star listed the foods that wouldn't be passing her lips but, one in particular stood out: corn.
According to Time, dieticians value corn as a healthy food. One cup of boiled sweet yellow corn has 143 calories, 5 grams of protein and a surprising amount of potassium - almost as much as a small banana.
It's also a prebiotic that fosters good gut bacteria.
However, Paltrow has removed it from her diet along with gluten, dairy, soy, caffeine, alcohol, added sugar, red meat, shellfish, white rice and nightshades.
While the diet seems rigorous, it's not a permanent lifestyle choice. The actress said it’s only designed for a week.
When it comes to her eating regime, the 43-year-old actress has a reputation for being super-strict. However, in a recent interview with Yahoo Beauty, Paltrow said there's a "lot of misinformation" about what she eats.
While the actress admits she has has her fair share of organic treats on hand, there are also treats like Oreo biscuits available.
She explained that, while she's made an effort to eat healthy ever since her father was diagnosed with cancer 20 years ago, she does occasionally stray: "For me the big things are really processed food and foods that have tons of chemicals and pesticides," she said.
" I try to stay away from that, but I love French fries and cheese and martinis and all that kind of thing."
