Ace cameraman PC Sreeram and his team have been elected to run the South Indian Cinematographers Association (SICA) after an election, which was held on Sunday. Three teams, which called themselves Sevai Ani (headed by G Siva), Aandavar Ani (headed by KV Kanniyappan) and Nadunilai Ani (headed by PC Sreeram), had contested this election, which was belong held in the association after eight years.
G Siva, who had held the president post until now, and his team had come in for severe criticism for their handling of the association���s affairs during the past eight years, and a few cinematographers had urged PC Sreeram to contest for the president���s post this time to set things right. His strong team, which included senior figures like B Kannan, Ramnath Shetty and Rajiv Menon, polled the maximum votes and emerged triumphant. Sreeram polled in 555 votes and was chosen for the post of president while B Kannan, who received 443 votes, was elected secretary. Ramnath Shetty has been chosen as the treasurer, while Rajiv Mohan and Priyan will be the vice presidents.
