Ram Gopal Varma's "Killing Veerappan" has taken a toll on the collection of Ram Pothineni's "Nenu Sailaja" at the box office in the latter's second weekend.

"Killing Veerappan" is a Kannada movie featuring Superstar Shivaraj Kumar in the lead role. The release of its Telugu version was delayed a couple of times due to some issues. The film released in over 300 cinema halls across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana (AP/T) on 7 January.

The Ram Gopal Varma-directed docudrama thriller opened to good response in on Thursday, and the positive word of mouth took its business upwards on the following days. The film is estimated to have collected approximately Rs 9 crore gross at the AP/T box office in the first weekend. The film is estimated to have fetched over Rs 6 crore to its distributors.

Trade experts had predicted that "Killing Veerappan" and other new releases like "Paakashala", "Kavvintha" and "Oh My God" would force Nenu Sailaja out of many theatres in its second week. They would also take a toll on its business, making it the last choice. As predicted, they did take a toll on its collection.

"Nenu Sailaja", which lost a large chunk of its screens to new release, saw a steep decline in its business on its second Friday. The movie failed to show a big jump on Saturday and Sunday. The film is estimated to have grossed Rs 4 crore at the worldwide box office in its second weekend. The film has fetched Rs 2.41 crore to its distributors.

"Nenu Sailaja" has been made on a budget of Rs 15 crore and has fetched Rs 17.98 crore to its distributors in 10 days. Its makers and distributors are very happy with its performance. Here is the estimated area-wise breakup of its distributors' share:
