Irish stars Saoirse Ronan and Caitriona Balfe wore stunning but contrasting looks on the Golden Globes red carpet.
Both actresses were up for gongs with Saoirse nominated for Best Actress for her role in Brooklyn, while Caitriona was up for Best Actress in a TV series, Drama.
Saoirse (21) shimmered in an elegant YSL Grecian gown in pure white with minimal make-up and a simple gold hairpiece.
Outlander star Caitriona (36), meanwhile opted for a dramatic gothic black gown with lace ruffle sleeves teamed with slick hair with dramatic centre parting.
They were among the few stars to stick to a straightforward black or white palate as colour dominated from red to blue to pink to JLo's mustard.
Michael Fassbender impressed for the guys in his tux and during his red carpet interview he reasserted the fact that he is in fact Irish.
Fassbender was nominated for Best Actor for his role in Steve Jobs.
Asked about playing people with tempers, and whether or not he's the same way in real life, he quipped, "Little things tend to annoy me like tying a shoelace or something." He then insisted he likes to stay upbeat and light.
Fassbender arrived separately to girlfriend Alicia Vikander, who was a contender for Best Supporting Actress for Ex Machina and Best Actress for The Danish Girl.
