CHENNAI: A three-cornered fight is underway among Tamil cinematographers, as the association of the lens men in the state (South Indian Cinematographer Association) will go for elections on Sunday, after foregoing the polls for the last three terms (eight years).
National award-winning cinematographer P C Sreeram will head the ‘neutral team’ with ‘Bombay’ cinematographer Rajiv Menon contesting for the post of vice president.

The elections were called after a group headed by 72-year-old veteran K V Kanniappan of ‘aandavar team’ levelled corruption charges against the ruling association. The ruling administration will contest under FEFSI (Federation Employees Federation of South India) president G Siva who will stand for general secretary post, despite not having worked as a cinematographer.
Meanwhile, ‘andavar team’ members said they would be happy to work under PC Sreeram who had held the post of vice president a decade ago.
