No headway in murder case but cops trace six missing women
In the last two weeks, officers from the Mumbai Police’s Zone 6 managed to trace six missing women, while trying to identify a body that was found chopped down to pieces and stuffed into two suitcases that were abandoned in Deonar.

The police found the suitcases on a highway on December 15, after which a team led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Sangramsinh Nishandar probed the missing persons’ complaints filed at various police stations. While the victim hasn’t been identified, the cops found at least six women, all of whom had left their homes to be with their partners.

One of the officers from Zone 6 said, “The women we managed to trace are married, and had left their homes to be with their lovers. One such woman, aged 19, was reunited with her family 16 days after she went missing on December 1. Another woman, aged 32, was traced to Mumbra on Friday, after she had gone missing in November. The Deonar police have released sketches of the woman whose body was found in the suitcases. “Our main aim is to identify the victim. The sketches have been sent out,” an officer said.
