Sankalp Gupta kept the Nagpur flag flying high in the
SS International School fifth
National School Chess Championship which concluded at Naivedhyam Eastoria Hall here on Thursday.
Divya emerged champion in the U-11 girls section with eight points, pipping Bhagyashree Patil and S Vijayasubhasri to the second and third spots, respectively.
In the U-13 girls category, Mrudul reigned supreme with 7.5 points to her credit.
Another city youngster Sankalp Gupta clinched the U-13 open crown. He bagged maximum 8.5 points, beating his nearest rivals Arjun Erigaisi and Akshit Kumar.
Additional commissioner of Income Tax Sanjay Dhivare, Suresh Chinchghare, Dilip Kamdar, Abhijit Kunte, Dilip Pagay and Manoj Itkelwar distributed the prizes.
