The Bishop Cotton Boys’ School and Bishop Cotton Girls' School will be celebrating the 153rd year of St Peter’s Day at their respective school premises from June 28 to 30.

As part of St Peter’s Day celebrations, a snooker championship was held at Karnataka State Billiards Association (KSBA) recently. This is the first time that a snooker tournament has been included as a part of the celebration.

Vinaya Reddy, committee member of Old Cottonians’ Association, says, “The idea to begin the celebrations with a snooker championship was suggested by Beena Kumar, an old Cottonian and a snooker player. We had about 35 people participating in the snooker event which was sponsored by Orient Flight Aviation Academy, Mysuru.

A basketball match and a tug-of-war will be held at the Bishop Cotton Girls’ School on June 30. Vinaya informs that the basketball matches will be played between the present and old Cottonians. The events at the Bishop Cotton Boys’ School will include tennis, cricket, hockey and water polo tournaments.

The celebrations will close with an annual general body meeting and the Old Cottonians’ Ball on June 30 at Sheraton Grand Bangalore Hotel at Brigade Gateway. The evening will feature a performance by an all-girls band called ‘The Void’.
