Man robbed of Rs 4.5 L by armed duo

Ghaziabad: A 71-year-old man was allegedly robbed of Rs 4.5 lakh in Karan Gate under the Sahibabad police station limits on Wednesday morning by armed assailants. An FIR has been lodged.
The incident occurred when P K Jain, a retired professor, was on his way back after withdrawing money from a bank in Shalimar Garden. "I had gone to my bank in my car to withdraw Rs 5.5 lakh.When I was going home I was waylaid by two bike-borne men who brandished pistols at me and snatched the bag containing Rs 4.5 lakh and fled," Jain said.
He said he had kept Rs 1 lakh on the dashboard. Hardayal Yadav, SHO, Sahibabad police station, said, "It seems that the robbers were in the bank when Jain was withdrawing money and they followed him from there."
