A spotted deer strayed into Nalgonda on Wednesday. It sustained serious injuries after it accidentally fell into a pit while running away from street dogs. The locals who found the deer in the pit called the police.

Speaking to The Hindu , Divisional Forest Officer, S. Satyanarayana said that he deer was brought to the police station and later taken to veterinary hospital.

The DFO said that the veterinary doctor provided first aid to the wild animal. It was kept under the veterinary doctor’s observation till it recuperates from injuries.

“We were enquiring to know from where he strayed in to Nalgonda town,” he said.
