JAMMU, Jan 6: After attending Rashtriya Ekta Shivir Camp at Village Pransla Rajkote Gujrat, a group of 40 students of remote area of the State reached here this morning. Director General of Police, (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar, felicitated the touring group at the lawns of Police Headquarters (PHQ).
The tour was organised by JKP under its civic action programme with the aim to connect the unprivileged youth of the State with the rich heritage and culture of the country .The camp was also attended by students from various states of the country. During camp, the students visited many tourist and historical places in Ahmadabad and other neighbouring states.
Interacting with the students, Mr. Rajendra asked the youth to use the knowledge and expertise they gained during the tour. He said that India has a rich civilization in context of scientific and technological advances and the youth should have a knowledge of these things, which could help in their  future career.
He said that the interactions with the students of other regions would make to acquaint the participants with cultural diversity of the country and make them committed to Nation’s progress by inculcating sense of patriotisms in them. The lecturers delivered by world famous intellectuals during the camp would also enhance the knowledge of the youth in different subjects, Mr. Rajendra added.
The DGP disclosed that various eminent and prominent intellectuals addressed the camp, touching the different topics of students interest which include Chief Minister Gujrat, Deputy Project Director ISRO, retired Army Generals, doctors and experts of different subjects.
On the occasion, the students expressed their happiness for their experiences during the tour. They said that in the camp they got opportunity to heir the intellectuals which was a great thing for them at this early stage of life. They also thanked the JKP for organising such tour.
Among others, the function was attended by ADGPs, SP Vaid, Navin Agerwal and SM Sahai, IGPs, HK Lohia, Yoginder Koul, Rajesh Kumar and Viplav Kumar, DPT, Hilal Ahmed, DIGPs, Alok Kumar and   Ashkoor Ahmed Wani, Dir. Prosecution, Pawan Gupta,  SSP Jammu, Uttam Chand, CO, Vijay Kumar, AIGPs, Dr.  Hissab  Mughal, Sheih Junaid Mahmood and Kulbir Singh, Sr. ADO (PHQ), BA Shah and Medical Superintendent Police Hospital Jammu, Dr. Wasiq Rasool and other police officers.
