Aptitude is important, and if one works with interest the pressure and burden are not felt, MP K. Haribabu said during the inaugural session of the five-day Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) camp for students at Andhra University on Tuesday.
“Looking for scientific temper will be the beginning for innovative ideas,” Dr. Haribabu said while urging the young brains to invent ideas for the benefit of the people.
The INSPIRE camp is being organised by the Department of Science and Technology and Andhra University in which 300 Intermediate students from three north coastal Andhra districts who have achieved top ranks in SSC examination are participating.
Prof. Satish Dhawan Scientist of SHAR-ISRO and former Additional Director of ISRO V. Seshagiri Rao said India would become a super power, thanks to its intelligent youth.
Indians were not habituated to properly document their research and technology innovations in the past, he said. Dr. Seshagiri Rao explained how India was able to invent technology that would cost huge amount if imported.
Vice-Chancellor G.S.N. Raju advised the students to set a target and work hard to achieve success. Innovative thinking and hard work would certainly help, Prof. Raju said.
