MENDHAR, Jan 5: Additional Deputy Commis-sioner Poonch today ordered magisterial inquiry into the death of a young woman due to alleged negligence of the doctors after the people and her relatives held protest demonstration here today.
The family members and relatives of the deceased 19-year-old Farzana Kouser, wife of Ibrat Hussain hailing from Galuta village in Mendhar came to the town here and started protest demonstration against local hospital authorities. They were demanding impartial inquiry into the death of Farzana, who allegedly died due to mishandling of case by the doctors. They demanded that FIR be registered against the staff responsible for the death. They held protest from 11 am to 12.30 pm at main chowk Mendhar and raised slogans against Health Minister Ch Lal Singh, Director Health Services Jammu, CMO Poonch and local hospital staff.
Later, DSP Operations Poonch, holding charge of SDPO Mendhar Zeeshan Bhat, SHO and Naib Tehsildar Aftab Hussain reached there. They tried to pacify the agitating people. Later, they spoke to the I/C Additional DC Poonch Shafiq Ahmed who ordered magisterial inquiry into the matter. Tehsildar Mendhar ( Ist Class Magistrate), Dr Manzoor from District Hospital Poonch and Naib Tehsildar Mendhar Aftab Hussain were directed to hold inquiry and submit report within a week.
I/C ADC Poonch, Mr Shafiq when contacted said that he has ordered inquiry into the whole episode and the truth will come out. ADC said that he was shocked to know about the death of young lady. After inquiry the things will be clear and if anybody found guilty, action will be taken as per law.
It is pertinent to mention here that Farzana Kouser, wife of Ibrat Hussain was brought to Sub District Hospital Mendhar by the family members on late Saturday evening after labour pains. She was operated upon by the doctors on Sunday morning in Mendhar hospital. She delivered a male baby and her condition went on deteriorating due to excessive bleeding. The family members urged the Medical staff to put extra efforts to control bleeding but they failed. They also approached CMO Poonch Dr Mumtaz Choudhary to help. The woman was then referred to District Hospital Rajouri. The doctors in Rajouri gave one unit blood then further sent her to GMC Jammu but she died on the way.
