Russ Ladwa to chair for BDA Health and Science Committee

Russ Ladwa is to chair the BDA's Health and Science Committee. He is a member of the BDA's PEC and was previously Dean at the FGDP and President of the Odontology Section at the Royal Society of Medicine. Russ takes a great interest in continuing education and training and has worked as postgraduate tutor.
On his appointment Russ said: "This is such a crucial time for oral health in terms of the problems of inequalities in oral health across the UK, the growing debate on sugar and the rise in oral cancer cases. I am looking forward to continuing and building on the BDA's work in campaigning and influencing national and international policy, to help ensure that oral health is at the heart of the health agenda."
The Committee thanked outgoing Chair, Graham Stokes, for his dedication over the past three years, including his work to help promote the problem of sugar and its impact on children's oral health, leading on the BDA's campaigning work on antimicrobial resistance and joint working with Cancer Research UK on an oral cancer toolkit for dental professionals.
