PUNE: Aakash Banerjee and Cladeo Nongpluh helped Pune FC maintain their unbeaten run with a convincing 3-0 win over DSK Shivajians in a Maharashtra Zone Round 9 clash of the Under-15 Youth League football championships in Loni, Pune, on Sunday.
Banerjee struck twice - in the 7th & 79th minutes - while skipper Nongpluh came up with a beauty in the 78th as Pune FC registered their eighth win of the season and their fourth away from home.
The three points earned also meant Pune FC took sole leadership at the top of the table with 25 points, three ahead of second placed Mumbai FC who they face in the final round, according to a release.

Pune FC took an early lead following a lapse in Shivajians' defence when Banerjee intercepted a weak return from a Shivajians's defender to their custodian and slotted home.
A handful of chances fell for attackers Ishan Dey, Aakash and Amey Talegaonkar up front but they lacked the finish.
The second half saw Pune FC retain the initiative. In the 63rd minute, Nongpluh made an unbelievable run, going past six defenders but disappointed by shooting wide from close range.
But the Pune FC captain tasted success sooner when he made another solo run, this time beating the goalkeeper and netting it.
A minute later, Banerjee got his second and Pune FC's third scoring from close.
